What to expect at a Bowen session?
A session is an hour long; approximately 20 minutes face down on the table, 20 minutes face up, then 10 minutes sitting up. There are also two five minute resting periods to allow your body to process and react. I require clients to book at least two appointments approximately seven days apart. The first treatment will consist of a series of basic cross fiber moves performed in strategic order on specific parts of the body. The second treatment will consist of basic moves along with more advanced moves depending on what I observe in your body's alignment. There will be two five minute resting periods where I will leave the room and let your body rest and react to the moves I have preformed. Client's comfort is of utmost importance, if you are ever too hot, too cold or if anything is uncomfortable, please let me know.

How to prepare?
A Bowen session does not require disrobing or oil. Please come prepared to a Bowen session with loose fitting clothes (ie, T-shirt and shorts or cotton pants, no jeans please) to ensure effective moves over the muscles.

What to expect after a Bowen session?
Reactions to Bowen vary greatly, please plan accordingly knowing your body will be reacting for 2-3 days after a session, you may feel different and you may not. Sometimes the body is changing and trying to realign itself after a Bowen session resulting in some muscle soreness. Detoxifying is something else that could happen which may result in soreness and fatigue. The main suggestion is to pay attention to your body and take it easy. You may need more rest than usual allowing your body's natural healing mechanisms to work most effectively. I do not recommend strenuous activity for a couple days following a session, as the body needs time to adjust. Another main suggestion is to drink lots of water to help flush out toxins and to hydrate the body (unless you are on a fluid restricted diet). Also, please avoid the use of hot tubs for a couple days, the heat could potentially cause more soreness as the muscles may already be going through change, possible inflammation and increased blood flow. Be aware that some people feel the effects and some do not, everyone reacts differently.
